This is a quick dinner for busy school nights.
Sausage Pepper Pasta
16 oz bulk sausage
2 peppers--any assortment of colors
1 small onion
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
16 oz whole wheat pasta
Parmesan cheese (optional)
Start by getting your water boiling for your pasta. I usually use penne pasta, but any shape will do. Chop your peppers and onions into bite-size pieces. Brown up the sausage.
Drain the grease and transfer the sausage to a plate covered with paper towels. Put the vegetables in the same pan and saute until tender. (Covering the pan with a lid makes this step quicker.)

Add the spaghetti sauce and Italian seasoning and let simmer for about 5 minutes.

Mix together and top with parmesan cheese.
