Our daycare provider is allergic to gluten, so for her birthday, the kids and I made a "fruit" cake and a veggie cake. Here is the fruit one:
I cut the watermelon so I had an octagon shape. I put 4 grapes on a toothpick and lined the toothpicks around the watermelon. This was to help them from sliding all around the container.
Next, I cut toothpicks in half and placed heart-shaped pineapple (I used a small cookie cutter.), kiwi, and a heart-shaped strawberry in the watermelon. I lined the container with some of the extra fruit and some raspberries.
