Homemade Brownies

To be honest, I usually use box brownie mixes when I need a quick dessert. Well, I wanted to make brownie/strawberry kabobs and didn't have any brownie mixes, so I set out to find a good homemade brownie recipe. These brownies were so much better than box brownies. And they really did not take much more effort.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
caramel topping

In a large mixing bowl, beat 1/2 cup of butter and 1 cup of sugar. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup flour, 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Slowly beat the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.

Pour in a greased 8X8 inch pan. Drizzle caramel topping on the brownie batter. Using a butter knife, cut the topping into the batter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Let pan cool on a wire rack.

Here are the finished kabobs. I alternated strawberries and brownie squares on some and added marshmallows to the other ones. I drizzled white chocolate over the whole kabob.
